An Image of AI

I’ve created a small interactive visualization. If you click the link, you will see a 3D cloud of several thousand points—our "galaxy." Then, before your eyes, the program will begin to find and connect specific points within that cloud to draw a familiar shape, like a star or a tree. This is a direct visual analogy for what an AI does. The vast cloud represents the AI's enormous map of language. The act of drawing a constellation is like the AI navigating that map to find the most probable connections between concepts, constructing a coherent and recognizable output from the statistical noise. It’s a way to see how structure and meaning can be found within a possibility space without requiring a conscious mind to create it. You can turn, zoom in, and zoom out on the images that are made. Some of them are a little tough to recognize (much like with AI outputs!). You will see images of a small dog, star, a double-helix, an oak tree or mushroom, and an abstract rendering of a human brain. No image was allowed to make more than 1000 connections in the space of the 3000 data points.
